Mixed Emotions

Hello all!

I was planning on doing a post today, on what's been happening along with a review but unfortunately I haven't had time to do the post I was planning, so this little update will have to be all today I'm afraid, but there will be a beauty post tomorrow (hopefully!)

So my original post was going to be about the fact that I've been searching for a job for ages, and I have finally been successful in gaining a full time job as a receptionist (woohoo!) So even though I will have less time on my hands, I will have more money which means more products for me to review for you guys!

Now for the reason why my post isn't what it was going to be.

This morning my little cat Minnie was very unwell, she couldn't stand, and wouldn't eat or drink. We took her to an emergency out of hours vets, who said she was very unwell and that they would do their best for her. This was at about 1.30pm today. We had a phone call at 4.30pm to say she was doing well, but she has liver disease, and that she was very jaundiced and she was on a drip, and if she kept responding well, we'd be able to pick her up, but we'd need to ring a couple of hours later to check. At 6.30pm we was about to ring, when they rung us. The vet said that Minnie had passed away, and that he thinks that toxins from her liver had spread and that's what had made her pass away. I am a HUGE animal lover, and this is such, such horrible news, especially knowing she wasn't with us when she passed away. She was only 6 years old, which is very young for a cat to pass away. I'm emotionally drained right now, and I'm finding this post very hard to type. I know life does go on, but to lose a member of the family, as that is what she was to us, so suddenly is extremely difficult. I know anyone who reads my blog (if there is anyone!) will completely understand.

RIP Little Minnie, goodnight and god bless xxx

Mini Primark Haul!

Hello all!

I told you I'd be back with a proper post, but I bet none of you believed me! Heehee! On Saturday I went to Basildon to pick up two rings from my Aunty Tina which were for my 21st birthday with my mum, so we thought while we are close to Lakeside, let's pop in Primark for a quick shop! It was literally the only shop we went in on Saturday, we didn't want to do the whole of Lakeside, we live an hour and 30 minutes away so not to far if we do want to go shopping there!

I haven't been to Primark in ages! But I picked up some really nice pieces which is what I'm going to write about, and show you in tonights post!

This is just an overview of some of the things that I bought! I didn't want to take a picture of everything as I'd be here forever, so I thought I'd just show you the bits I'm extremely pleased with!

So firstly I bought these crocheted style tops in teal, pink and white! I believe these were £8 each, and for that price you cannot go wrong! I'll be wearing either a white or a black vest top underneath these as they're quite see-through, but they'll also look good with just a bikini on underneath if you're looking for something to slip over the top whilst you're at the beach or pool! I'm going on holiday to Majorca this September with my Boyfriend which is one of the main reasons I bought these. These will be perfect teamed with denim shorts and perfect for casual day wear as they're so light!

I absolutely love this top! I think this was also £8! I actually saw this on a mannequin in the shop, and I wouldn't have bought this if it wasn't for the mannequin! On the mannequin it was teamed with denim shorts, and the bottom part of the shirt was tied like a crop top! It looked so nice! I actually wore this the other day as a crop top, but I wore a long grey vest underneath, skinny jeans and white converse! So I took the baseball style to the extreme! Again, this will be perfect for summer as it's a very light material, especially for those cooler summer evenings!

Can you see a theme with the summer style clothing? Again, I was thinking of my far, yet upcoming holiday! This was either £6 or £8, so a great price! I thought this would be perfect in the day time with just a pair of black sandals, but also perfect for evening with a black waist belt and a pair of black heels! So that's two outfits in one, saving space in my suitcase, meaning I can bring back more presents (for myself!).

I had to get this! This bikini set was £4! That's crazy! It's a bandeau style top meaning no on show tan lines which is great, plus I have hardly any bikinis in this type of colour, print or style! Plus it's the perfect going away bikini. Very summery, and I feel that people are usually a bit more daring with what they wear abroad, and usually go for things they don't usually wear, and I wouldn't usually wear this, but I am in love, and cannot wait to wear it! Again, for lazing about the pool or beach, the bikini top would be great paired with denim shorts, and even the white or pink crocheted top from earlier!

Plain grey plimsoles for £3, you cannot go wrong. Everybody needs a pair of plimsoles, and I thought grey would pretty much look good with anything. I was going to get white, but I'm terrible with keeping white shoes clean! Plimsoles are always a main part of my wardrobe in the summer. Especially for those long summer strolls!

These sandals are similar to the Ted Baker jelly type sandals but for a fraction of the price. These were £4! I had these last year, which I bought for £5, but they didn't have the heart charms, they were just plain. Unfortunately that pair were used as a chew toy by my Boyfriend's dog! I was not amused, especially when I went back to get another pair, and they were not stocking them! I was definitely pleased to see these this year, and the heart charm and cheaper price was a definite bonus!

I am so impressed by the quality of Primark jewellery recently! I remember when it wasn't that great, but it has improved greatly! I picked this necklace up as it's very feminine, and for £1.50 I couldn't say no! Especially when I have a bracelet I bought from Primark the last time which would go very nicely with this!

Lastly I have these 2 cute little doggy outfits! As you may or may not know I have 2 tiny Chihuahuas. Chihuahuas are prone to getting cold quite easily, so little t-shirts or dresses are good for keeping their body warmth in. These were the only 2 types of clothing they had, other than bandanas, but they wouldn't of helped with the warmth! But I thought these were both very cute, as you can see the left one is a dress with a tutu at the bottom and says Princess, which I bought for Toffee (the girl). The right one says "I'm wearing nothing under this shirt" which I thought was so cute, and I bought that one for Fudge (the boy). These were £3.50 each, and considering most doggy clothes are £10+, I was definitely impressed. They fit perfectly too, and they are in the size Small.

Have you been to Primark recently? Did you get any good deals on anything, or pick up something you really love?

Until next time,

I'm useless!

Again I've neglected my blog! I do have a valid excuse however, and I am back now (hopefully for longer than before)!

I've been looking for a job recently so I've been applying and applying until I'm blue in the face, but still, no good news yet! But hopefully I will hear some positive news soon!

I have some posts coming up, and I'm hoping to get one up either tonight/tomorrow!

Much love!

I'mmmm baaaaaack!

Hello lovelies!

Told you I'd be back! I'm not reviewing any products this time, instead I'm going to show you what my Dressing Table looks like! It's a little messy at the moment as I'm currently trying to re-do my room, but this is what it is like currently! It isn't too bad, I'm still quite organised, but messily!

This is the entire view of my dressing table, as you can see there is quite a few things on it, but I have closer photos so that I can explain!

So this is the right side of my dressing table, starting from the back I have 2 Frontcover palettes, a Studio 51 colour palette, colour technic palette, pretty in pink palette, and then finally the Soap and Glory Power Trip palette!
I have 3 mugs containing all my brushes, the white and purple one has eye brushes in, the middle one (which you can't see!) has face brushes in, and then the white and green one has sponges in! I also have my little Vaseline Tin which has Vaseline tins in... (WHATTTT?!)

On the left side I have an empty box (to collect empties in to review), a box with skincare goodies in, these are just Eve Taylor Cleanse, Toner and Moisturiser, Witch Hazel, Aroma Truth Face Soother, Eve Taylor Eye and Lip cleanser, and Primark face wipes! I find if I don't have my skin products out on display, I will not use them and forget to cleanse my face, which isn't good! I also have a white Soap and Glory hairband hanging up for when I do my skin care, and a bottle of hand sanitizer as you don't want to be using dirty hands all around your face!
Onto the messy drawers!

So this is the first drawer on the left, all my lip products! At the left side of the picture I have Lip Balms, to the right of that I have tubed Lip Glosses, Further right is the wand Lip Glosses, and at the bottom I have my Lip Sticks!

This drawer is kind of a mishmash of things! This is the 2nd drawer on the left. From the left I have Deodorants, Hand Sanitizer's and extra cotton pads, and at the top I have perfume samples and eyelashes!

This is my messiest drawer! All of the products are literally bath things! Scrubs, shower gels, shampoos, etc! I could open my own store as this isn't even all of it!

This is the top drawer on the right, and is all eye products! I have glitter eyeliners at the back, then pencil and liquid eyeliners, and then mascaras. And I have to squeeze my neutral palettes in at the back!

And finally my 2nd drawer on the right, I do have a 3rd but I'm not going to even bother with that, it's just random stuff that isn't even makeup or beauty related! So this drawer, is the face drawer! Top left I have random face products that I don't know what to do with, bottom left is bronzers and blushers, in the small blue container at the top is powdered foundations, and in the rather full looking bigger blue container is cream/liquid foundations, highlighters, and concealers. This is the container I use most! At the very right of the picture is a couple of brush wraps with a few brushes in that I never use!

I hope you enjoyed reading and looking how I store my makeup! I also have a nail storage post coming in the next week as well as a few reviews and some other little surprise posts!

See you all soon!

AWOL

Hello you beautiful people!

I am so sorry I haven't posted in a while! I have got so many posts planned, but just haven't got around to typing them up! It's been a little bit hectic here! It was my birthday on the 2nd of February and I turned the big 21! So with that combined with job searching, time has flown by!  But as I mentioned I have plenty of ideas for posts, and they will be posted within the next few days! Exciting! The first one will be my birthday haul, showing you what I got! I was very spoilt, but I'm so grateful to everyone as I received some wonderful gifts!

See you soon!

Browzings!

Hello you lovely lot!

This post is slightly later than planned, it was due on Saturday evening, and it's now 1.14am Monday morning! It's also slightly shorter than planned as originally I was going to be posting about 4 products I bought, but I'm saving the other 3 for other posts as this is going to be a long one! But it's finally here, so please read on and I hope you enjoy!

On Saturday, my dear mum and I ventured into the big town of Colchester to do a spot of shopping. Colchester isn't too bad for shopping, but there is no Primark, which for me, is a HUGE downfall. But it's one of the closest bigger towns, plus we were having our cars serviced, so it was a perfect excuse.

Our first major stop was Debenhams. Debenhams were doing an offer over the Christmas period which was spend £50 and get a £5 gift card. I was only spending £45 so I bought a £5 gift card for myself, to receive the free £5 gift card! So I had £10 to spend in Debenhams, and I was originally going to buy myself a nice perfume, but then one of the ladies at the Benefit counter stopped me about the new tint they had out. I'm not a fan of tints, and it didn't really interest me at all, so I asked if they had any eyebrow products, as I am a fan of the well defined eyebrow. This is where my new staple to my make-up bag comes in.

So impressed by this product that I had to buy it! Browzings by Benefit retails at £23.50, I received it for £13.50 because of my gift cards, but even at the higher price I would have bought this! I have never had a proper brow product and usually fill them in with eyeshadow which works, but this is so much more amazing!

When I got home and saw I'd bought a medium, I really panicked that I'd wasted my money. I have extremely dark eyebrows, and looking at the powder colour on the box I was worried that this was going to be extremely light. It's not! The powder is darker than it looks, so I definitely recommend trying in-store before purchasing!

Now I have never bought a Benefit product before. I own sample sizes, but could never justify spending so much on a product. I completely regret that decision! If all the other products are as good as this, then they are definitely worth the money. I had to take this picture of the box design! You can only catch the writing in certain light, but I think it looks so professional!

As you can see, I've already used this on my brows, I just couldn't wait! On the left we have the wax, this shapes the brow, and slightly darkens. The powder on the right, sets the wax, and sticks to the wax so that you have a long lasting, perfectly shaped brow! I think the mirror is so important on this, as you never know when you'll need a touch up, but so far it hasn't been used as I haven't needed to touch up my brows!

Aren't these the cutest!? From left to right we have; the hard angled brush, the blending brush, and mini tweezers. The hard angled brush is for the wax, the blending brush for the powder, and tweezers for tweezing of course! Personally, I didn't like using the blending brush for the powder, I used the hard angled brush for both the wax and the powder. I felt it was easier to control the powder with this brush, and it gave my brow a more defined look. I haven't used the tweezers yet, as I'd already plucked my eyebrows, so I didn't have any stray hairs to pull.

I'd just like to apologise for the yellowish tint on the left of my hand! It is bruised! I had an operation just over a week ago, and that is where the Canula went in :(
On the left side of my hand, the fainter line, is the wax. As I mentioned earlier, the wax only slightly darkens the brow, it's primarily for shaping, and maintain the shape you want. The darker line is the powder. Such a difference in colour as to what it looks like in the compact! The colour shown in the compact is deceiving, as once applied it is so much darker, so I don't recommend you buy this without trying first! I love how once the powder is applied, although it's darker, it's not an unnatural colour, which a lot of products are. For me, this perfectly blends in with my brows, and gives them a very defined shaped, but a natural colour!

Overall, I'm so impressed with this product! It seems highly priced at £23.50 for the size of the product, but not much product is needed, so this is going to last a long time! It also has brilliant staying power due to the combination of the wax and the setting powder. It is definitely worth the money, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants some lovely looking brows!

Hope you enjoyed my first review!

Me again!

Hello all!

Just thought I'd let you all know I've been on a mini makeup haul today, so I'm literally waiting for my camera battery to charge, and then I shall be posting all about what I bought!  I got some amazing stuff today, for quite cheap, which I'm really happy with! I'll also be reviewing the products later in the week/month, when I've used them more so that I can give you an accurate review!
